Hockey Heritage North
Northern Ontario is usually brought up when talking about mining towns and small boom towns of the 1900’s. Many people do not know the rich history that the region has when it comes to hockey. Hockey Heritage North provides this opportunity for people in and out of the region to discover the popular background of professional hockey players that came from many of our hometowns.
Exibition Centre
This 18,000 sq. ft facility offers a highly interactive introduction to the history of hockey in the north and the impact the region has had on professional hockey in North America. As the famous announcer Foster Hewitt once said, Kirkland Lake is the town that made the NHL famous. At HHN, you can see for yourself how the some of the game’s greatest players cut their teeth playing on the rough and tumble outdoor rinks of yesteryear. Test your slap-shot, play a game of air hockey or put yourself right in the action with our virtual sports simulator.
Information Centre
Hockey Heritage North is the information centre for Kirkland Lake. Located in our information centre are brochures, maps, kiosks, a bulletin board and chalk board displaying current and upcoming events. The friendly HHN staff will take the time to assist you and will even help you plan your trip. For information please call HHN toll free at (866) 568-4420 or visit our website at www.hockeyheritagenorth.ca
