Northern Spirit Adventures
Discover the pristine wilderness of Smooth Rock Falls in a large canoe. You will experience a fantastic boat tour with Northern Spirit Adventures. Meet André and Éliane in Smooth Rock Falls, before you head on out on back rivers and up through many scenic waterways, such as Newpost Falls.
After a little historic information, a team paddle and many scenic photos, lunch is served on the beautiful shoreline. What an amazing day to truly capture the wilderness of Northern Ontario.

On this splendid lake we will travel with our canoe and sing songs like the coureur des bois and the voyageurs did in the early years of the fur trade! A trip excellent for the family and friends or for an occasion such as a wedding anniversary or a birthday ect… We also stop for a little swim at a cozy little beach and if you wish to catch a few fish, this is just the lake for you.
Paddle down the Abitibi River located on the 50th parallel and perhaps catch a glimpse of some of the abundant wildlife in the area. Our destination is the incredible 100 ft waterfalls at the mouth of the New Post River. On the way down, we'll visit the site of the Hudson Bay Company trading post used in the 1800s.
Start your day at the Mattagami boat launch in Smooth Rock Falls. Travel the Mattagami River with your friends and family in the comfort of the very stable and safe voyageur canoe. Spend your day traveling this river and discovering what is has to offer . About an hour into the trip we stop at bald eagles nest to view the majestic bird feeding its little ones.
